Expo 2020

This Expo is now one of the largest in Australia outside the major metropolitan areas.

After serious consultations the Committee has concluded that we have no option but to cancel Expo 2020 as a result of the continued increase in the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID -19).

Rather than postpone it until later in the year when we would clash with other train shows, especially Malkara, it has been decided to cancel this year’s show altogether.

 The reasons are as follows:

a.  As at 15.00 13 March, the Federal Government has announced that the holding of gatherings of more than 500 people as from Monday 16 March 2019, will be ill-advised;

b.  Most of us in the Club are in one of the target groups and so we could be easily exposed to infection during Expo;

c.  Our audience is either children or older adults, both of whom are also in the target group;

d.  With the concern there is no guarantee that we could attract a large enough audience to even cover our costs let alone to provide enough customers for our traders; and

e.  We don’t want anyone who has the virus to be tempted to come along to the show and inadvertently infect others.
